Richard “Ricky” Gallant, age 62, passed away quietly on January 30, 2020 at home in Gold Hill, CO. He was born on June 25, 1957 in New Jersey, on the wedding anniversary of his parents Richard James Gallant and Elizabeth Clara Shive. He was a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Physics. Ricky worked as a Senior Optical Engineer for Guidestar Optical Systems, Inc. in Longmont, CO. He could be seen strolling around the mountain working out some intricate mathematical equation for a project he was working on, determined to discover the answer. An avid music lover, he was often seen with his beloved Taylor guitar playing a Dylan or Garcia song and almost always wearing what close family called, his Bobby Weir shorts. He loved the mountains, sunny skies and long walks. He is survived by his brother, Capt. Rex Gallant; his sister’s Randibeth Gallant (who he affectionately called Rudi); Robin Bogdanski; Roxanne Seigel; brothers-in-law and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in his passing was Ronald Gallant, a brother. Family and friends whose lives were touched by Ricky can leave messages on his tribute page at: BlueMountainMortuary.com. A memorial celebration will take place this spring/summer at Gold Hill Inn, Boulder, CO.
